The Market Common is a lifestyle center located on the southern end of Myrtle Beach, just off of Highways 17 Business and 17 Bypass, near Myrtle Beach State Park. The 114 acre area is located on the grounds of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, which closed in the early nineties, and was redeveloped and opened to the public in 2008.
The Market Common retains its roots to its military past with Warbird Park, which pays homage to the men and women who served at the former Air Force Base; it also showcases several fighter aircraft. Markers throughout the district commemorate the history of the Air Force Base, and most of the streets are named after those connected with it. The Market Common offers military history trolley tours throughout the year, as well as a local folklore tour.
The district has been masterfully and thoughtfully designed along the lines of an urban village, to include a well-balanced mixture of residential complexes, stores, restaurants, businesses, and natural spaces that identify the Market Common as the place to do it all— work, play, eat, and live— without ever leaving.

Balmoral is a newer neighborhood located in the new urban village of Withers Preserve in the desirable Market Common District, close to Highway 17 Business and the beach just across it. Beazer Homes built Balmoral, and prices range from about $300,000 to $450,000s with square footage from 1,980 to 3,490. There are 5-floor plans to choose from, ranging from 3 to 4 bedrooms. Balmoral is in close proximity to The Grand Park at Withers Preserve, which is 220 acres, including lakes, walking trails, baseball fields, a state of the art gym, and more. Belle Harbor is a Lennar single-family home community located near the Market Common area of Myrtle Beach. Prices range from $270,990 to $357,990, and HOA fees are only $110 per month. Cresswind is an active adult community in Myrtle Beach’s Market Common District. Kolter Homes, the community’s builder, is a national contractor with a solid reputation for high-quality homes. For comfort and protection, the 2 and 3 bedroom homes are constructed with as few steps as possible, with old-fashioned front porches that welcome lazy afternoons relaxing with neighbors and friends. The single-story ranch-style homes for sale in this South Carolina community have spacious floor plans and vary in size from 1,450 square feet to over 2,500 square feet. These houses, which range in price from $250,000 to $344,000, are true bargains with too many extras. Residents enjoy a clubhouse, exercise center, yoga class, aerobic gym, Bocce Ball facilities, arts/crafts space, swimming pool and spa, workout rooms, and a function area.
Emmens Preserve is a beautiful community of Lennar-built houses located in the Market Commons area of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Lennar has created a series of homes that complement and enhance the Coastal Carolina way of life. Colonel Robert G Emmens, a late WWII hero and lifetime resident, was honored by the naming of Emmens Preserve. Homes in Emmens Preserve come in 17 different models, each with three to five bedrooms and sizes varying from 1,480 to 2,797 heated square feet. The prices in this neighborhood start at about $160,000. Emmens Preserve offers a putting green, bocce ball fields, an amphitheater, outdoor barbecue, fire pits, and a resort-style pool, among other amenities. This community is near walking/bike trails, the Airport, and the Public Square of Market Common that features shopping, dining, a movie theater, and other entertainment.
High Market is a new neighborhood in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina’s Market Common area. Each condo has a private garden and a fenced-in patio and granite countertops, 10-foot ceilings, designer kitchen cabinets, and more are among the upgrades. These townhouse-style condos offer two bedrooms, two stories, and 1273 sq ft of maintenance-free living are available and priced around $212,000. Market Common is an “upscale shopping experience with a downtown feel,” with over 60 local and national retailers, as well as numerous dining options, a movie theater, and much more. Several parks, excellent sports fields, the VA Clinic, and Horry Georgetown Technical College are all located in the neighborhood.

At 1802 square feet, the Florence floorplan features three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and an optional bonus space and loft. When you buy a house before it’s finished, you can also choose the exterior colors. Residents are also able to stroll to Market Common’s membership swimming pool, parks, trails, and outdoor events, as well as the several restaurants, shops, and theaters.
Market Common in Myrtle Beach has two styles of townhomes. The “Live Work” area is the most costly form of townhome living. Meridian is a brand new DR Horton neighborhood near the Market Common in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, just off Farrow on Fred Nash Blvd. There are 200-300 new homes planned, in ranch and two-story styles, with prices ranging from $220,000 to $300,000. Granite countertops, vaulted ceilings, landscaped lots, and covered porches will be included in the homes. Park Place at Market Common is one of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina’s newest Market Common neighborhoods. Natural gas is used for heating, cooking, and hot water in the Park Place homes. There are four models to choose from, but Beazer’s “Choice Plans” allow you to customize your living space to meet your specific needs at no additional cost. Homes range in size from 1,705 to 2,913 sq ft and have three to four bedrooms, and prices range from the low $200,000’s to the mid $500,000’s. The Most Popular attractions such as stores, restaurants, and entertainment are within walking distance of the neighborhood. The beach and shopping boutiques, movie theaters, ball fields, and various walking and biking trails are all within 3 miles.
Seagate Village condos are a suburban community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, near The Market Common. These condos are ranch-style and have one, two, or three bedrooms, and are spacious, light, and well-kept. Dishwashers, refrigerators, stoves, and washer-dryers are all included. Some condos are furnished. Depending on the size and improvements, prices vary from the mid $100,000’s to the mid $200,000’s. A pleasant beach, limitless trails, picnic areas, and a pier are available at the State Park. The South Market Row townhomes are among Dock Street Communities’ most recent developments in Market Common, and they should prove to be just as iconic as the many others they’ve already introduced.
